Library of Nag Hammadi
The Library of Nag Hammadi is a collection of early Gnostic texts discovered in 1945 near the Egyptian town of Nag Hammadi. The Nag Hammadi codices contain texts written in Coptic language. The most well-known work is the Gospel of Thomas. A corpus of 1,200 Nag Hammadi manuscripts is housed in the Coptic Museum.
