David Livingstone
David Livingstone (1813-1873) was a Scottish medical missionary, explorer, and anti-slavery campaigner. He is most famous for his travels in Africa, where he spent over 30 years exploring the continent and establishing Christian missions. He was the first European to see and describe the Victoria Falls, and his expeditions helped to map vast regions of Africa, including the Zambezi River. Livingstone's expeditions also helped to draw attention to the slave trade, and he became an influential advocate for its abolition. He died during an expedition to find the source of the Nile, but his legacy as one of the greatest explorers of Africa endures.
