He was a strong advocate for the principles of the Reformed faith, and his sermons and writings continue to be widely read and studied today.

Jan Amos Komenský, also known as John Amos Comenius, was a Czech philosopher, educator, and writer who lived from 1592 to 1670. He is considered to be the father of modern education and one of the most important figures in the history of education. Comenius was born in Moravia, which was then part of the Habsburg Empire, and he became a bishop of the Unity of the Brethren, a Protestant denomination. He was forced to flee from his homeland due to religious persecution, and he lived in several countries throughout Europe, including Sweden, the Netherlands, and England. Throughout his life, Comenius was dedicated to reforming education and promoting universal education for all children, regardless of their social status or gender. He wrote numerous works on education, including "Orbis Sensualium Pictus" (The Visible World in Pictures), which was the first picture book for children and a precursor to modern textbooks.
